Continuing Education Class Information
All classes are approved by the New Jersey Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors to assist contractors in meeting the 34-hour continuing education requirement for the upcoming LICENSE RENEWAL DEADLINE OF March 31st 2027.
New Jersey licensed electricians are required to complete 34 hours of approved classes as follows: 24 hours on topics of your choice, which can be online or in person. In addition to the 24 hours, licensed electricians are also required to complete a 10-hour IN PERSON class consisting of 9 hours on the new code, and 1 hour of Business Law for a total of 34 hours of continuing education.
WINTER 2026 CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASS SCHEDULE
ALL CLASSES ARE ONLINE EXCEPT THE 10 HOUR CODE CHANGE UPDATE
Monday January 12, 3 hours from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Business and Employee Management.
This class will discuss best practices for employment management, recent Board of Examiners employee registration requirements, and the use of AI.
Wednesday January 14, 5 hours from 5 PM to 10 PM. Services / Outside Branch Circuits and Feeders, NEC Labeling Requirements.
This class will discuss service and feeder installation requirements, feeder to a separate building, and NEC labeling requirements.
Monday February 9, 3 hours from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Important Changes to the NEC.
This class will discuss some important changes to the 2020 NEC and take a look at what to expect in 2023.
Wednesday February 11, 5 hours from 5 PM to 10 PM. The Rehab Code and the Electrical Contractor / Common Violations / PVC Installations.
This class will review the rehab code as it relates to electrical contractors, discuss some common violations, and PVC installations.
10 Hour Code and Law Update. Required Class and Required to be in Person
Friday February 27 4:30PM to 10 PM 1/2 Hour Dinner Break, Saturday February 28, 8:30 AM to 2 PM.
This in person class will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel, 50 Kenny Place, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663. Fee includes a Mike Holt Code Change Book, Sandwiches on Friday night and refreshments on Saturday morning. You must attend both sessions to receive credit.
Monday March 2, 3 hours from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. GFCI / AFCI
This class will cover Ground Fault and Arc Fault requirements, including recent and upcoming changes.
Wednesday March 4, 5 hours from 5 PM to 10 PM. Article 110 Requirements for Electrical Installations / Article 300 General Requirements for Wiring Methods
This class will review the basic requirements for equipment installations and wiring methods.
